This
unique log home is located on six acres of waterfront property on Lake Palo
Pinto. From the moment you drive up, you feel that you have stepped back in
time when this part of the country was settled by the pioneers and occupied
by the Indians.
Come inside and enjoy the panoramic view of the
lake from the wrap around porches or from the back porch which nestles in
the trees 80 feet above the water. The Lodge is your home for the weekend
and your hosts, Cindy and Mike Lewis, are wanting to share their enthusiasm
for the many secret delights that they have included in the construction of
it.
The
freshly prepared Full Breakfast is served at 9:00 am in the main
dining room. Mouthwatering specialties are Pioneer Pancakes, Surprise French
Toast, Frittatas and Homemade breads and biscuits. Freshly brewed coffee is
available in the main room by 7:00 am. Enjoy your first cup of coffee on the
porch, view the scenery and listen to the songbirds.
After
indulging in breakfast you can take a bicycle ride along the scenic roads,
explore the lake in the paddleboat, swim or hook a Catfish, Bass or White
Crappy to grill later. You might spend the day antiquing, golfing or
visiting the many historical sites in the area. Or just let the country air
melt away your stress as you do nothing more strenuous than curl up with a
good book. However you decide to spend your day, be sure to return in time
for sunsets, fireflies, moonlight on the water and stargazing.
Sunset
Point, the deck hanging over the cliff edge, makes the perfect spot for
sunsets.
The
game room beckons you for a game of billiards on a table built in the
1950's. Do a puzzle or play a board game from the large selection available.
The rock ceiling and the large rafters from an 1840's Amish barn make the
Wine Cellar very unique. Bring an extra bottle of your favorite wine and
you can tag it with your name for your next visit.
